This picture was taken in Belzoni, Mississippi, in the delta area on October 1939 by Marion Post Wolcott, it is titled "Negro man entering movie theater by "Colored" entrance." [Signs: "Colored--Adm." and "White Men Only."] This photo is outdoors with natural lighting and shadowing in an urban area probaly in the afternoon. There is one negro man but he is siloutited so i can not describe his features or clothing. The first thing to catch my eye is the admission of 10 cents. It makes me wonder how much white admission is. I see a bilboard and what looks to be a vending machine and ladders. I looks like the back of a building to me which says that the theater didn't want it to be too obvious that colored people were seeing movies there. The tone of theis photo is kind of negative and dark and light.

I like this photo because it makes me wonder what the admission for white people would be and what part of the theater this man is entering and what part of the theater do white people enter.

A question I would ask the photographer is where in the city is this theater, like more towards the city line or in the center of town. An other question I would ask is where the man is entering the theater.
